Why one supplier beats two
Booking a band and a DJ separately means two set-ups, two sound checks
and a changeover in the middle of your evening — usually at exactly the
point the dancefloor was working. Same band, same kit, one seamless
night avoids all of it, and it is cheaper than hiring both.
Requests and the first dance
Send a list. We will play it, and we will happily learn your first
dance. We also read the room — a list is a starting point, not a
contract, and if something is not landing we will move.
How an all-day booking runs
- Arrival and ceremony. Music as guests arrive and for the ceremony itself, with a microphone if the venue needs one.
- Drinks and the meal. Background music at conversation level, then a wireless microphone for the speeches and the cake cutting.
- First dance. Your song, the original recording, however you want it.
- The evening. Up to four hours of floor-fillers, shaped by the room and your list.
A DJ, a ceilidh, or both
A DJ on their own is a good fit if your guests want to dance to music
they know. If the two families have not met, or you want every
generation on the floor, a called ceilidh does that better. We have
written the honest comparison in
ceilidh band or DJ for your wedding,
and what each costs is in the
cost guide.
What comes with the DJ
- Full PA, sized to the room rather than to the invoice
- Atmospheric lighting
- A microphone for the speeches and announcements
- Setup and pack-down, included in the price
Fancy something extra? The selfie pod, saxophone
power hour, popcorn, candy floss and giant love letters can all be
added on.
Questions about wedding DJ hire
How much does a wedding DJ cost in Scotland?
Our all-day Wedding DJ package is £1,000 for a full wedding day, from ceremony to last dance. It includes the PA, atmospheric lighting, setup and pack-down and a microphone for the speeches.
Can the DJ cover the ceremony and the drinks reception?
Yes. The all-day package is a dedicated DJ from the ceremony to the last dance, so the music runs through arrival, the ceremony, the drinks reception, the meal and speeches, and the evening.
Do you take requests and play our first dance?
Yes. Send a list ahead of time and we will play it, including your first dance. We also read the room, so the list is a starting point rather than a contract.
Can we add a ceilidh to a DJ night?
Yes. Our ceilidh + DJ packages combine a live ceilidh with a full DJ set on the same kit, so there is no changeover. See the packages page for the options.
Do you charge for travel?
Not within 100 miles of Perth, which covers most of Scotland. Beyond that it is quoted before you book.
